BellCharts is Preparing to implement 33 categoriesWe are getting closer and closer to implementing the 33 new categories of funds. The Investment Funds Standards Committee has finalized the list of categories and finished allocating the over 2,000 funds to their respective categories.
BellCharts is currently working on reprogramming our system so that we can adopt the new categories. The purpose of the new categories is to help standardize the categorization of funds across all the third party providers of information and to hone down the Specialty category. For example, the Specialty category will be broken down so that we will have a Real Estate Category, a Science & Technology category and a High Yield Bond Category. You will also see U.S. Equity funds broken down into U.S. Small to Mid Cap Equity and U.S. Equity. This will allow you to better compare like funds.
BellCharts Inc. is a leading supplier of accurate mutual fund data for the financial industry. It has a long history as a successful organization serving Canadian Financial Planners.
